Today I thought I would lend my expert(or not) advice on troubleshooting Blackberry issues with a Blackberry on a Blackberry Enterprise Server.
Common Issues and Solutions
Common Issues and Solutions
Enterprise Activation won't work
- Check to ensure you have the correct Blackberry Data Plan,
- Make sure your BES Admin has added you to the Server and set an Activation Password.
- Make sure you type in your complete email address and password -password is case sensitive.
- Have your Admin check your Spam Firewall to ensure the RIM message was received and not blocked.
- Power off your device if Activation sticks on "activating", remove the battery(hard reset) then put the battery back in and try activation again.
- Wipe the Handheld -->Options-->Security or Security Options--General Options-->Press in with the scroll wheel and select Wipe Handheld. Select Continue and then type "blackberry" to wipe the handheld. This will clear your device. After wiping your handheld try activation again. If this does not work have the BES Admin delete and then add you back to the Server making sure to reassign a password.(this last step typically always corrects the issue, if this is not a new device you will perform additional steps)
Non-New Device which stops receiving emails
- If not already installed, install the Desktop Sopackaged with your Blackberry.
- Make sure to select Blackberry Enterprise Server when installing.
- After installation connect your Blackberry to your computer with the USB cable packaged with your device.
- After the device has connected selected "Backup/Restore".
- Click Backup and take the defaults.
- After the device has been backed up follow the steps above for "Wiping the Handheld".
- After wiping the Handheld click "Restore" in the Desktop Software.
- After the device has been Restored power off the device and remove/reinsert the battery.
- Once it reboots run Enteprise Activation again. If it does not work, have your BES Admin remove/add you back to the BES Server.
Not of all my folders are showing up on my Blackberry
- Go into Messages on your Blackberry --press in with the scroll wheel and select "Options".
- Select Email Settings
- Press in with the scroll wheel and select "Folder Redirection"
- Expand your Email address and make sure the folders you want on your Blackberry are checked.
- If you check one or remove a check make sure you save the changes before you exit.
Guess thats all for today, I may post additional Blackberry Information if anyone would find it beneficial. Let me know.

Make sure they are on GPRS or EDGE (all CAPS)... :)
And log onto the BES and verify that all the services for BB are running.
I would upgrade your BES to 7.24.16.1113.44990. Then run upcrap and fixdump to resolve that.
That's friggin hilarious Moody!!! Made my night! lol
